Welcome to the Department of Medicine A!
Our department focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other malignant diseases. As a part of the Comprehensive Cancer Centre Münster, we offer up-to-date diagnostics and therapy. All established and effective tumour therapy approaches are available in our tertiary care facility. Our specialized transplant centre performs autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantations. In these areas, we are one of the leading hospitals in Germany. Our physicians enjoy national and international recognition.
In addition to well-established therapies, we offer innovative clinical studies and individualized treatment concepts. Our excellent basic and translational research programme complements clinical practice and guarantees diagnostics and therapy at the highest level.
Our multi-disciplinary team consists of more than 40 physicians, as well as specialized nursing staff, physical therapists, social workers, psychologists and others, as well as interpreters if necessary. Our team is well trained to handle even the most complex and difficult-to-treat diseases.
Clinical oncology: Solid tumours are diagnosed and treated with multimodal therapy concepts in close cooperation with the surgical departments and the radiation therapy unit. Therapy is offered in line with current international standards of therapy. Both inpatient and outpatient treatment is possible.
The Pulmonary disease section diagnoses and treats patients with malignant tumours of the lung, as well as patients with all kinds of lung diseases including sarcoidosis and COLD.
Clotting disorders are diagnosed and treated at our special Clotting and Thrombosis Service. The associated laboratory performs all modern diagnostic methods to identify the basis of clotting or bleeding disorders and to carry out therapy control. Both outpatient and inpatient diagnosis and treatment are possible.
