Oncology and Pneumology

Specific Focus of the Department

Stem cell transplantation
The stem cell transplantation center in Münster treats patients of all ages. Transplantations are usually required for haematological malignancies such as leukaemias. But there are also benign disorders that can be successfully cured by transplantation. The majority of patients undergoing allogeneic transplantation in Münster were diagnosed with leukemia. Transplantation is required in the case of chemotherapy alone not being sufficient or in the case of relapses. Both autologous and allogeneic transplantations are regularly performed in our transplant centre, which has been certified by the international JACIE standard. Overall, more than 120 patients undergo transplants (autologous and allogeneic) in Münster each year. Our experienced team is well equipped for the specific concerns of international patients. Please contact us for an informal consultation.

A special emphasis is placed on the various forms of lung cancer that are treated in close consultation with the Thoracic Surgery and the Radiation Therapy Departments. Lung transplantations are performed in close collaboration with the Thoracic Surgery Department.
